A Birthday Celebration at Calhoun's on the River - Jaclyn Paige Photography

One of my favorite things about my job as a photographer is having the opportunity to meet all kinds of people.  When I covered Mrs. Milsaps' surprise 90th birthday party last weekend at Calhoun's on the River, I met one of the kindest, most loving people I have ever had the pleasure of photographing.  She was surrounded by about 50 members of her family- children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, and their kids and grandkids.  Watching Mrs. Milsaps with her family, whether grown adults or small children, I couldn't help but wonder how many other lives she has touched, how many people she has blessed just by extending her arms to embrace them and giving them her warm smile.  I count myself one of those lucky people.  Undoubtedly, she loves well and is loved by so many in return.  Happy Birthday Mrs. Milsaps! --Jaclyn

Those Beautiful Fall Leaves are Just Around the Corner!

It's back-to-school season, so I'm thinking about autumn!  Soon these hot humid days will turn to pleasantly warm days with cool nights, which make it perfect weather for family portraits!  Now is the time to book your portrait session.  I'm already booking October dates, which is prime portrait season.  Last year the Hoke family was one of many to take advantage of the orange and yellow pallet of fall.  Here are some of our favorites. --Jaclyn

Elin's 1st Birthday - Children and Family Portraits - Jaclyn Paige Photography

We met Elin and her family at Campbell Station Park to take some pictures of her in honor of her first birthday.  We also caught a few frames of her brother, mom, and dad.  It was a beautiful afternoon celebrating with a beautiful family.

Porter Family Session at Sequoiah Hills Park - Jaclyn Paige Photography

The Porter family won this photoshoot at a silent auction supporting Bethany Christian Services, an adoption agency in Knoxville.  The leaves couldn't have looked any better on the autumn day we met them in Sequoia Hills Park.  It was a beautiful day to photograph a family that seemed as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside.

Marek Family Portraits - Jaclyn Paige Photography

The Marek family converged in Tennessee and met us at our favorite spot to shoot in the Smokies.  Everyone in the family was so photogenic and so much fun to be around that we were sad when the shoot was over and they headed back out of town.  But one of the great things about shooting near Gatlinburg is that you're never too far away from a pancake house to drown your sorrows in maple syrup.

The Chiafulios - Family Portraits - Jaclyn Paige Photography

What a great family this is!  The boys are so sweet and have completely different personalities.  One is a bundle of energy waiting to explode into action; the other is quiet and peaceful.  (Now that I think about it, that sort of describes their parents, too.)  All four are a joy to be around.

Kim & Dana - Wedding at the Lodge at Buckberry Creek - Jaclyn Paige Photography

Kim and Dana celebrated their marriage in an intimate ceremony and reception at the Buckberry Creek pavilion along with their kids and close family.  Throughout the day they joked and laughed together, enjoying each other's company and making memories.  The nearby creek provided a great playground for the kids and adults alike, and the beautiful Smoky Mountain Valley offered ample "photo ops" for couples and families.  This was the first wedding that Joshua and I noticed a "wedding crasher" in attendance:  an overly-"friendly" black bear showed up on the scene, apparently seeking to enjoy some leftover dessert.  What a great memory for Kim and Dana as they look back on their destination wedding in the Smokies! (and what a great way to freak out your photographer!)  --Jaclyn
