Melanie and Daniel were married last weekend in Halls at a little country church. Their guests filled that sanctuary! Last December we photographed Melanie's cousin's wedding reception so it was neat to see some familiar faces again. I love the bright royal blue dresses and accents. They definitely had the "something blue" part covered! This spring I met with Melanie and Ruben (to some people, he's Daniel. To others, he's Ruben!) for their engagement session at Norris Dam. I really love to have a chance to spend some time with a couple in this way before their wedding day. When the big day does arrive, I feel like I am working with old friends. Melanie's son Trey joined them for their engagement session. In that blog posting I imagined he would be so adorable in a tux as their ringbearer. I was right! He did a wonderful job during the ceremony and had fun all day. There's a great shot of him below, but Joshua captured the funniest shot of the day of the ladies reaching for the bouquet. Hilarious! --Jaclyn

Ashley & Sean - Wedding at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church - Reception at The Barn Even Center - Jaclyn Paige Photography
Ashley and Sean said their vows at the Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church- a great little stone building with lots of charm. Ashley found her amazing dress at A Joyous Occasion in Knoxville. After pictures, we headed down the road to The Barn-- Event Center of the Smokies. There, the couple and their friends and family enjoyed a beautiful meal and then danced the evening away to music provided by Chuck Amstone. He really kept the party going! Just look at these pictures! Sean and Ashley included so many personal mementos in their colorful decor and let their personalities fill the room! From the Wizard of Oz paraphernalia in one corner, to the homemade quilts in another, and then three different themes on three different cakes, Joshua and I were busy snapping away to capture everything Ashley and Sean had worked so hard to pull together. It was a great day! (I say that every time, I know. I just love my job!) --Jaclyn

Courtney & Daine's Sunsphere Wedding - Jaclyn Paige Photography
Courtney and Daine were married at the Laurel Theater in Knoxville, and had their reception at the Sunsphere. We had a couple hours before the wedding to get pictures of the guys and girls at World's Fair Park. I have to say, I love it when we have this much time to play with different ideas for group shots! You'll see a bunch of them below. A live bluegrass ensemble, including Daine's dad on banjo, provided unique and personal music for the ceremony, and Tall Paul provided his singing and guitar talents for the reception entertainment. The reception "hall" inside the Sunsphere allowed for some creative uses of reflections, since the outside wall is all glass and the inside wall is all mirrors! Another cool and personal touch that Courtney and Daine added: they offered fortune cookies, which tied into one of their first dates, instead of wedding cake! Guests then left some of the more meaningful fortunes for the couple to read and enjoy. What a great couple, a fun group of guests, a unique setting, and all in all- what a terrific day! --Jaclyn
