Lucy's 3! Family & Children's portraits - Dara's Garden - Jaclyn Paige Photography

Last week I had the pleasure of working with little Lucy and her parents at Dara's Garden.  You're only 3 once, and Lucy's living every minute to its fullest! --Jaclyn

Those Beautiful Fall Leaves are Just Around the Corner!

It's back-to-school season, so I'm thinking about autumn!  Soon these hot humid days will turn to pleasantly warm days with cool nights, which make it perfect weather for family portraits!  Now is the time to book your portrait session.  I'm already booking October dates, which is prime portrait season.  Last year the Hoke family was one of many to take advantage of the orange and yellow pallet of fall.  Here are some of our favorites. --Jaclyn

Elin's 1st Birthday - Children and Family Portraits - Jaclyn Paige Photography

We met Elin and her family at Campbell Station Park to take some pictures of her in honor of her first birthday.  We also caught a few frames of her brother, mom, and dad.  It was a beautiful afternoon celebrating with a beautiful family.

Caleb: One Cool Dude - Children's Portraits - Jaclyn Paige Photography

Caleb is one spunky and playful kid.  He wanted to play with every toy we had and laughed at every goofy face (that we made and that he made).  The blocks proved to be particularly interesting to him, and he undertook the task of placing everyone on top of the basket without knocking off the letters of his name.  When the bubbles came out, popping them was his new quest.  You can see below that doing so takes quite a bit of concentration.

Adorable Cousins! Children's Portraits - Jaclyn Paige Photography

These cute girls are cousins, and they were getting their pictures taken for Grandma's Christmas present.  It's such a nice gift to surprise grandparents with beautiful prints of their cherished grandbabies or to give them a gift certificate to get the whole family together for pictures.  The kids grow so fast, and there are so many great moments to remember.

The Milligan Boys - Children's Portraits - Jaclyn Paige Photography

These guys were a challenge to capture sitting still.  They had so much fun running around the park and playing in the leaves that it became a game for us to get all three in one frame.  As you can tell, they are a close-knit (and zany) bunch of boys.  Being with them for an afternoon reminded us how fun it is to be a kid (whether in age or heart).

Lucy at the Park - Children's Portraits - Jaclyn Paige Photography

The turkey on Lucy's dress gives away that we made these images of her and her parents back in November.  Lucy had fun on the swings, and we all enjoyed the beautiful sunset over the Tennessee River.  She's really grown since we first met her at the hospital.

You can click Lucy's link below to see the other images of her that Jaclyn has made.  --Joshua

Dreaming of Warmer Weather

This was a shoot I did before the leaves came off the trees and the cold weather set in.  These girls are always so photogenic and they are so fun too be around; I thought sharing their beautiful smiles might help cheer up some people during this particularly cold and wet week. --Jaclyn

Nathalie - Children's Portraits - Jaclyn Paige Photography

On a chilly day like today, it's so fun to be working on this portrait session with Nathalie, who is a warm ray of sunshine to everyone she meets!  Nathalie is a bright, inquisitive little lady and a joy to photograph.  She had a lot of fun during our session: hiding behind trees, balancing on rocks, making silly faces, and singing a new version of "I'm a Little Teapot" that ends with the line, "Oh wait-- I'm a sugarbowl."  How cute can you get, really?  I always look forward to kids' portrait sessions because entering into their worlds makes me feel like a kid again myself!
